Jamila Cruz, MSN, FNP-C, is a Family Nurse Practitioner who cares for women across their reproductive and post-menopausal stages at Albany Area Primary Health Care’s Women’s Centers. Jamila firmly believes promoting the health of women will ensure a better future for everyone.

Prior to working with Albany Area Primary Health Care, she served in various departments at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital including Mother-Baby, Women’s Health, and Observation Unit as a registered nurse and charge nurse for more than 11 years. She was also most recently with Inpatient Medicine Specialists as a Nurse Practitioner.

She graduated magna cum laude from Darton College with an Associate of Science in Nursing in 2009 and with honors from South University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing in 2019.

Originally from Pelham, Georgia, she now lives in Albany with her husband of 11 years and their four children. In her spare time she frequently travels to visit their immense extended family of which includes her six brothers, one sister, and her husband’s four sisters.

Her hobbies include reading, mystery/crime and romance novels; cooking big family dinners; and learning new skills. Currently, she is studying Spanish to be able to communicate more effectively with her Spanish-speaking patients.

Jamila would love to get to know you and welcomes all new patients into her life as part of her extended family.
