South Albany Medical Center
Albany, GA (Dougherty)

Ignatius graduated from University of Benin, Nigeria Medical School in 1986 and practiced general medicine until 1995 when he migrated to the states. In 1996, he was certified by ECFMG as a foreign medical graduate. However, his great desire for excellence in fulfilling his passion for helping people live their lives to the fullest led him to New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYCOM), to pursue another medical degree in Osteopathic Medicine.

He completed his residency at St. Michael’s Medical Center, Newark, New Jersey and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. His desire to ensure that every patient receives adequate medical attention led Dr. “O” (as he is fondly called by colleagues and patients) to Albany Area Primary Health Care, Inc., where healthcare is available to all. When he is not taking care of his patients, Ignatius loves to spend time with his wife and their lovely five children – one son and four daughters. He enjoys playing Scrabble and listening to gospel music. He is a born-again Christian and worships at Plantation Parkway Assembly of God Church in Leesburg, GA.
