Dr. Joyce Neal joined the group in 1988 after moving back to Georgia from Texas where she completed her pediatric residency at the University of Texas, Galveston in 1987. She completed her medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia in 1984 and her undergraduate degree was from North Georgia College. Dr. Neal is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics (Georgia Chapter as well). She has served on various hospital committees during her tenure including Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Neal currently works part time at two clinic locations. She is married to Mark Shoemaker, a local anesthesiologist in Albany and they have three children. In her spare time, she loves travelling, gardening, and photography.
