Stacia Dzikunu, D.O., FACOOG, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist who specializes in obstetrics, gynecology, infertility treatments, and leading-edge gynecologic robotic surgeries.
Being board-certified ensures that Dr. Dzikunu, as your physician, has received recognition for her high standards of education, knowledge, experience and skills. She is a highly-trained, highly-skilled physician who is committed to assisting her patients with their health care needs from pregnancy, to infertility concerns, or even changes in their body with age. Most importantly, she is also by her patients’ side through something as difficult as pregnancy loss. With her extensive knowledge of OB/GYN issues, she is ready to assist her patients at all times.
Dr. Dzikunu performs robotic surgeries, which offers minimally invasive surgical techniques to treat several conditions that affect a woman’s reproductive organs. Robotic surgery is less invasive and requires less downtime for patients who need treatment for endometriosis, fibroids and other gynecologic conditions. Dr. Dzikunu’s knowledge of this technology allows her to offer the best and most advanced care for her patients.
Additionally, Dr. Dzikunu is trained in Bioidentical Hormone Replacement and pellet hormone insertion. This program targets women who are perimenopausal, menopausal or just feeling overly fatigued or worn down. She will provide testing to develop a specialized hormone plan for you so that you can restore balance to your body.
Dr. Dzikunu is also committed to ensuring that her patients look as good as they feel. She can provide Botox and other filler treatments to add a youthful glow to your face.
Dr. Dzikunu earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. She then made the decision to serve in the Peace Corps and spent over two years in Ghana, Africa. During her time there she taught as a middle school teacher and also developed several after-school programs for girls and gifted students. After she returned from service as a Peace Corps volunteer she moved to Michigan and completed medical school at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Dzikunu completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mt Clemens, Michigan where she was chosen as chief resident during her final year of residency.
